diet coke brownies

Okay, I MUST have been the only person who didn't know about this. Seriously. Why did nobody ever tell me I could mix a can of Diet Coke and a box of brownie mix and have it come out super moist and delicious and have it even be kinda healthy? I feel like I've been fooled all these years. But now, thanks to Pinterest, I know the truth! I feel these could be made with Diet Cream Soda and come out really well, or even Dr. Pepper! I would not advise lemony sodas though, because that sounds gross.... but that's just me!

monkey bread

I have one thing to tell you, before anything, and one thing alone. If you're on a diet, don't even torture yourself with this post. Because this monkey bread will make you lose ALL control on any weight-loss goals you have at any time before you make it. It's sticky and gooey and cinnamony and literally the best-smelling and best-tasting thing, maybe ever. I was dying while I was waiting for this to be done because it smelled so good. I wanted to grab it out of the oven early just to shove it in my mouth and burn all my tastebuds off and not care. But, I didn't. I did, however, not wait the required 5 minutes before tipping it over onto a plate and it may or may not kinda have fallen apart when I did.... But who cares! It was SO GOOD.

italy trip!

Oh goodness me. I feel like all you super-sweet followers that have been with me since the beginning (and some new ones too, hopefully) probably think I've forgotten all about you. Well, do not fear, because I have not! I was in Italy for two weeks at Christmastime and I came back on New Year's Day, then I had to furiously complete my application to Texas A&M (Gig 'Emmmm!), and THEN, just as I finished that, I catered and styled a party for the amazing Mary Jo over at Red House Ranch. A post on that is coming soon! And THEN, I started new classes yesterday, and I can already tell you guys this is gonna be one craaaazy semester. Yesterday I had half a second to catch my breath, so I thought I would ask y'all if you would prefer me to catch you up on what happened in Italy, or the party! It was close, but I had a majority that voted for Italy, so here we are! This is gonna be mostly pictures of really, REALLY yummy food, so I apologize in advance if you drool all over your keyboard. Good news is I got lots and lots of recipe inspiration! Now my only problem is gonna be finding the time to indulge these crazy ideas I got. :)

Typical Italian lunch... plain focaccia, onion focaccia, and green onion focaccia, along with some salami.
