Oh. My. Gosh. Words cannot even explain these cookies. They are INSANE. Can't decide between fudgy brownie cookies and good ol' chocolate chip cookies? Well... make both! And smash them together. Yes. No, I'm not kidding. Yes, your thighs will disapprove. But oh, these are so worth it. I apologize to your diet. The best part is they are not even that hard to make! I promise! All you gotta do is...
Start with a plain little scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough. Theennn...
Squish them together! Ta-da! Done. Bake them for like 12 minutes, and you've pretty much got it made in life. These are soooo-o-o-o dang good, it's unbelievable. They are a little bit vanilla-y and a lot chocolatey, and the perfect compromise between chocolate-chip and full-chocolate. You'll wish you just want one, but after you try them, you'll be tempted to eat the whole batch. Don't even try the dough. Don't do this to yourself!
Yeah, okay. Yum. Make these.
Chocolate Chip Marble Fudge Cookies
Adapted from How Sweet Eats
Yields: about 30 cookies
*Note, you may either make two separate doughs, or start with one and divide it by weight later on... I did two separate, but if you wish do make just one, the original recipe tells ya how to do that. :) *
for the plain chocolate chip cookie dough
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup white sugar
1 cup white flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
for the brownie fudge cookie dough
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 egg
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup white flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
pinch of salt
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 325F. Grab a large bowl and combine the butter and sugars for the plain cookie dough. Beat well, then add in the egg, vanilla, and salt. Mix til creamy, then stir in the flour and baking soda, then stir in chocolate chips. In a separate large bowl, repeat the process with the brownie fudge cookie dough ingredients. Grab two lined cookie sheets, and using a small cookie scoop (I used the smallest I have, it's probably about 1 tablespoon), scoop out 12 plain cookie dough scoops on each pan. Clean the scooper, then scoop out 12 brownie fudge cookie dough balls directly on top of the plain cookie dough. Either smoosh the doughs on top of each other, or turn them slightly sideways, then squish them together. The latter technique will give you more half-and-half cookies. Bake for 10-12 minutes, switching pans halfway through baking. If the cookies still look pale, leave them in the turned-off oven for a couple extra minutes to help them become golden and delicious. Let cool slightly, then enjoy!
what's not to like, they look like a bite of heaven !
ReplyDeleteMm I have seen combination cookies made where you roll the dough out and slice them, but this looks much easier. Yum!
ReplyDeleteGet outttt. Oh man. Love it.
ReplyDelete@ Shruti & Tara: thank you! :)
ReplyDelete@ Erin: I know what you're talking about! Yeah, those are no fun... especially cause I am the most impatient person ever and I hate waiting for dough to chill. Ugh. These are honestly even easier than you would think, I was so surprised!
